During pregnancy a womans body undergoes numerous changes both physically as well as physiologically. The physical changes can cause stress and or discomfort to the mother and pregnancy massage is a wonderful way to help alleviate many of these discomforts, as well as providing a sense of well-being.

Pregnancy massage is beneficial after the first 12 weeks of pregnancy; however, if you are having a high risk pregnancy it is best to discuss your condition with your midwife or physician before seeking a therapist. After doing so,  you may be able to receive a massage with a written release.  Pregnancy massage is specially designed to address the aches and pains of a pregnant woman such as lower back pain or sciatica or oedema while using the appropriate level of pressure.  Joanne always ensure that you are comfortable lying on your side supported by pillows on the massage table, before she begins the treatment.
