As a complementary therapist for over 20 years Joanne has a wide range of experience. Over Joanne’s years of practicing she noticed that some client’s needed additional support. She intuitively realised that some clients physical issues were rooted in their thoughts or feelings.
An example of this is how your body responds to stress. Constant worry and stress over jobs, finances, health or other problems may cause you to feel anxious, and on a physical level, it cause cause you to tense your muscles, give you a headache or lead to stomach problems. This is known as the mind-body connection.
Seeing the impact of the mind body connection in her clients led Joanne to expanding her toolkit by qualifying as a Health Creation mentor, Neuro Linguistic Programming practitioner, inner power therapeutic coach and Heart Metta Practitioner. Joanne discovered that some of her clients would benefit from coaching and hence now offers coaching sessions.
This allows Joanne to assist clients to implement health lifestyle changes, over come limiting beliefs or mental blocks. In addition Joanne provides support during turbulent times in clients’ lives by assisting them to address their worries, fears and anxieties.
As a former IT Director in the City Joanne knows the impact a demanding job has on your mind and body. She set up Vitality Therapy and created a variety of services to address these problems.
Joanne has studied a wide variety of complementary therapy and coaching modalities to understand the impact office life and life outside the office have on your mind, body and soul.
Joanne use her intuition to guide you through a treatment to maximise the benefit to you while focusing on your priorities.
Joanne studied Swedish massage and Aromatherapy massage with Deirdre Moynihan and Stephanie Mealey of AVCS who were advisers to the government when the NVQ in Aromatherapy Massage was created.
Joanne studied Reflexology with Mary Martin who was an ex-nurse who founded the Association of Reflexologists (one of the governing bodies for Reflexology) in 1984.
Joanne studied Seated Acupressure Massage with Patricia Abercromby and Davina Thomson who run the main training organisations for chair masseurs and wrote the definitive text book on the subject.
Joanne studied Reiki with a variety of Reiki masters.
Joanne trained as a coach and NLP practitioner with Andy Harrington who was personally trained by Anthony Robbins.
Joanne trained as a Health Creation Mentor with Dr Rosy Daniel, who is widely recognised as a world authority on the holistic approach to cancer care and who to implement healthy lifestyle changes
Joanne qualified in Hot Stone Therapy after studying under Rosie Malcolm-MacEwan who previously taught at Champneys in Tring, Hertfordshire.
Joanne qualified in Sports Massage after learning from experienced Sports Therapists and Osteopaths at Essentials for Health.
Joanne traveled first to Canada and then Japan to study with Sandra Sweetman.
Joanne is a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists (Membership No: 186111).
In order to maintain her Heart Metta Practitioner coaching qualification, I am required to re-certify annually.
Joanne has £5 million insurance includes Public Liability, Processional Indemnity, Product Liability and Libel/Slander Insurances.
